What is a word for a beauty felt or seen in joyless or comfortless artworks?

I am essay an e.g. of a proposal/artist statement. The cut with a chisel we am essay about is my own, it has a comfortless thesis though during a same time beautiful… How can we report this? Are there a integrate difference which could total up a beauty in tragedy? Or a beauty in chaos? The beauty in sadness? Something along those lines…

Thanks!

How about ‘meloncholic’ or ‘ordered chaos’…reminds me of Jackson Pollock’s paintings. Beauty in tragedy, sequence in chaos.
